Data Pro, operating as DataPro, is the data controller responsible for personal information used to run this platform.
Information we collect and why
- Name, surname and login details — to create and secure your account (contract performance).
- Profile photo, interests, qualification and experience you choose to add — to personalise your profile and learning (contract performance and consent).
- Lesson answers, saved work, progress and certificates — to provide courses and certificates (contract performance).
- AI tutor messages and answers — to provide learning assistance and save your conversation (contract performance). Do not submit sensitive personal information in prompts.
- Usage, device and IP information — for security, fraud prevention and improvements (legitimate interests).
Who we share it with
- Service providers that host and operate the platform, including AI providers processing tutor messages to generate answers.
- Paddle, our Merchant of Record, for sales, subscriptions, payments, tax and invoicing.
- Professional advisers, and authorities when required by law.
Retention and security
We keep information while your account is active and as needed for legal obligations, then delete or anonymise it. We use appropriate measures such as encryption and access controls.
International processing
Our service providers may process information outside South Africa. Where required by applicable law, we use appropriate contractual and other safeguards for these transfers.
Your rights
Under South Africa's POPIA and other applicable law, you may ask to access, correct or delete your information, object to processing, or withdraw consent. You may also complain to the Information Regulator.
Cookies and browser storage
We use essential storage to keep you signed in and remember preferences such as theme and currency. We do not use marketing cookies.
