What it means

A KPI is one agreed number used to check whether an important goal is being met.

Why it matters

It gives you one reliable building block for doing Data Analytics work correctly and explaining it to someone else.

Tiny example

Imagine a analytics task as a small recipe. KPIs is one named step in that recipe, with a clear input and result.

Remember this

Say it simply: “I use KPIs to move from a question to a checked result.”
